Best Pod Mod Vapes Under 40$
The Lost Vape Orion was one of the best pod mod vapes last year. The expensive price of this nice looking pod mod with excellent vaping performance was, however, a turn off for many. If you, dear vaper, are one of those that do not want to spend almost $80 on a pod device, then this is the right article for you!
Now in 2019, some vape manufacturers have introduced some cheaper alternatives to the Lost Vape Orion that won’t leave you with empty pockets. Yes, we know. They look suspiciously similar but we tried them out for you and we can say they are great alternatives if you want to enjoy the good stuff from the Orion at a much lower price. But don’t expect a DNA chip inside though!
Best Pod Mod – 1. Geekvape Frenzy Pod Kit
The Orion Killer?
Geekvape just launched their first pod mod, the Frenzy Pod Kit. This brand-new portable pod is beautifully crafted in zinc alloy and resin. This is possibly your best choice if you are not willing to spend more than 35$. Let us tell you that what Geekvape offers for this price is a pretty good deal: 950 mAh built-in battery, smart AS Micro Chipset and multiple safety protections.
The Geekvape Frenzy Pod Kit has 2 different types of coils (both included in the kit so you can try them). The 0.7 ohm NS mesh coil works in power mode at 2.4V, while the 1.2 NS mesh coils (made in SS316L) works in TC mode to optimize the flavor. The AS chipset switches between these two modes depending on which coil you pop in, so you don’t have to worry about any adjustment.
Another big pro for the Frenzy Pod Kit is the visible adjustable airflow and the magnetic connection. Just so handy! So for all these reasons, we strongly recommend you giving the Frenzy a chance if you are looking for an Orion-like pod mod without spending too much.
Best Pod Mod – 2. Trinity Alpha, the Orion Knock-off
If the Frenzy Pod Kit does not seduce you enough, let us give you a second option. SMOK was the first brand to launch an Orion knockoff: the Trinity Alpha Pod Kit. This pod mod has a large built-in 1000 mAh battery and comes with Mesh and MTL coils. One of the biggest pros of this pod mod is its coil compatibility with Nord coils. These coils are quite popular so you can easily find them in many vape shops.
Unlike the Geekvape Frenzy, the SMOK Trinity Alpha features 3 power levels (Soft/Norm/Hard) so you have to select the vaping mode that goes better with you manually.
The Trinity Alpha also features a top filling cap design, also found in the Orion design. This makes refilling very easy and convenient and you only have to push the cap to one side so don’t worry about missing this piece!
Best Pod Mod – 3. The Orion Q, No DNA Chip!
If you still prefer the original Lost Vape Orion, please let us tell you that you also have a cheaper option from the original manufacturer. Lost Vape has now released a second edition called the Orion Quest. You can find this pod for a little less than half the price, but without the most unique electronic features of the GO: the Evolv DNA board.
The Orion Q has a 950 mAh internal battery and the power output is set for 17 watts only. There is no adjustability and you can find the device by itself with no pods or the full kit that comes with a single 2 ml pod housing a 1.0-ohm Kanthal coil.
From the outside, there’s virtually no difference between the two versions. But forget about the DNA chip with Replay mode.

Content creator and marketer. Originally from Spain, I lived a few years in Scotland and China where I started to work for the vaping industry. Vaping is not only a profession for me but also a passion. I quit smoking thanks to vaping almost 3 years ago. I helped many smokers to switch to vaping since as I am convinced vaping is a much healhier alternative to tobbaco smoking.
