Geekvape Aegis Boost 40W Pod Mod Kit Preview
The Aegis family keeps on growing! The toughest mod in the market now has a pod version, the Geekvape Aegis Boost 40W. Actually, the Aegis Boost is more than just a pod mod as it offers more versatility. We have seen rebuildable pod mods before, but this is the first time I came across a mod that can be used as a pod and RDTA. Sounds interesting, right? Let’s get this baby unboxed!

Unboxing the Geekvape Aegis Boost Kit
The new Geekvape Aegis Boost Pod Mod Kit comes in the typical black carton packaging from Geekvape. There are 2 versions available: standard (3.7ml capacity) and TPD version (2ml capacity). Both version comes with the following goodies:
- Geekvape Aegis Boost Pod Mod Kit with a pre-installed 0.4ohm coil
- 0.6ohm KA1 Mesh Coil Pod
- USB cable
- Tool to remove the coils
- Extra drip tip
- User manual

The RDTA is not included in the kit and it has to be purchased separately. Although we still have to wait to see this, as it was not released yet.
Geekvape offers at the moment 5 different colors (red, glow, blue, black and gunmetal).
Geekvape Aegis Boost Build Quality
I have tried many Aegis mods before and they always boast their strong build quality. Made in durable zinc-alloy, leather and silicone, the body of the Aegis Boost feels really good in hands. Like other previous Aegis mods, the new Boost is also water-proof.
Geekvape also made this mod stain-resistant and rust-proof. The result is a very solid and compact (106.8 x 39.2 x 27.7mm) kit to bring out with you, even to the hardest weather and working conditions.
Geekvape Aegis Boost Build Quality Continued
The device is powered by a 1500 mAh built-in battery and monitored by the AS Chipset. The design of the mod looks very similar to other versions. The front parts has an OLED screen and down below Geekvape placed the up and down buttons.
The OLED screen displays the wattage, coil resistance and puff counter. On top, we have the fire button. Here we can control the power output which goes from 5 to 40W.

In one side of the mod, there is a small silicone lid which hides the micro USB port. The Aegis Boost has a very nice and comfortable leather finish on the opposite side. This leather part provides a very pleasant grip and it is tear-resistant.
The Geekvape Aegis Boost Pods
The pod is included in the kit along with 2 coil options: 0.4 ohm coil and 0.6 ohm meshed coil. The coils are replaceable and can be easily installed with the tool included. This pod features a top filling and has 3.7 ml (Standard version) and 2 ml (TPD version).

The most innovative feature of the pod is in the airflow. There is a small wheel that you can open and close to adjust the airflow according to your needs.
Last but not least, we have the mouthpiece that also comes with a cover. This drip tip is removable and has a cover cap to avoid dust and other particles to get inside. There are 2 types of drip tips: one for MTL and another one for DL. Just make sure you don’t miss these two as it won’t be easy to find spare parts.
In terms of flavor and vapor production, the Aegis Boost Pod Kit will give you a very similar performance to a sub-ohm tank. The flavor and vapor production is just on point! Any e-liquid ranging between 60-80% VG concentration will be good to use in this pod.
The Geekvape Aegis Boost RDTA – Sneak Peek!
The Aegis Boost has a RBA option for those who prefer rebuildable pods. It features a RDTA (Rebuildable Dripper Tank Atomizer) for single coil with a clamped deck. The airflow adjustments and top filling remain identical. This RDTA has not been released yet, so this is just a sneak peek!

First Thoughts
The pod mod offer is coming to a saturating point. In recent months, we have seen all of pod devices: small MTL pods, pens for both DL and MTL, rebuildable pods… Geekvape is trying to bring some fresh air with a pod mod that can be used as an RDTA too. But can we call this pod mod? In my opinion, we are slowly going back to AIO devices.
I find this new Geekvape Aegis Boost quiet interesting. Considering the price range ($35-40), you get a durable and reliable all-in-one kit that has the ability to be used as a RDTA. The Aegis Saga never disappoints, and I have the feeling that the Geekvape Aegis Boost Kit wil be no exception.
