MECHLYFE Slatra Mesh RDA Review
Have you ever wondered what a dual mesh RDA would be like? Well, let us tell you that the vape company MECHLYFE and the vape reviewer AmbitionZ Vaper teamed up to lunch the MECHLYFE Slatra Mesh RDA!
This is a very promising RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer) featuring a triple clamp deck specially designed for mesh coils. We have seen this kind of RDA before for single mesh coils but this is the first time we get to see it for dual mesh coils.
MECHLYFE Slatra Mesh RDA Unboxing and Packaging
The Slatra RDA is available at the moment in 5 different colours (black, blue, golden, gun metal and stainless steel). This rebuildable dripper comes in a black packaging with many extras! Inside the boxing, you will find the Slatra RDA, a screwdriver, 2 extra screws, a bag with extra o-rings, 2 mesh coils (Ni80 and Kanthal) and a coil jig tool for easy building.
Why mesh coils?
Most existing mesh coils consists of a strip of metal with holes punched in them with a flat thin design. They have introduced in some sub-ohm tanks a couple of years ago. For many, the mesh coils are a lot better than the standard wire-based coils as they have more surface area allowing better saturation and more even heating. This also contributes to making your vapour more flavorful and smooth.
Build Quality and Specs
The Slatra is a stubby RDA measuring 30 mm in height and 25 mm in diameter. Constructed in stainless steel, this RDA has a golden-plated hex socket squonk pin and a regular pin. This basically means that you can either drop juice into the atomizer through the drip tip or squonk it inside the deck if you happen to use a squonk mod.
The Slatra has 18 tiny air holes divided into 3 lines which are located at both sides of the RDA. There is a grip on the top cap of the RDA so you can close and open the airflow as desired. The mechanism is very smooth and easy to turn. This RDA comes with an 810 resin drip tip. Nothing really new up until this point, but the most interesting part is inside the RDA.
The Slatra RDA features a triple clamp style deck. There are 2 hex screws on both side and a top screw. Installing the mesh coils included in the boxing is actually pretty easy thanks to the jig tools. It is refreshing to see such an original and innovative deck! This deck also allows you to use other types of coils. It is up to you!
MECHLYFE Slatra Mesh RDA Pros and Cons
• Very tasty and flavorful clouds
• Easy mesh coil installation and wicking
• Good vapour production
• Well-constructed RDA with the original build deck
• Smooth airflow with no strange noises
• Some spit-back on the first hit when you use it on a squonk mod
• Not really a con, but you need a powerful squonk mod to push those dual mesh coils
• Short screws, they come out easily
If you are a flavour chaser, then there is no doubt that you are going to enjoy the MECHLYFE Slatra Mesh RDA. The flavour is one of the best things of this RDA and the triple clamp RDA is original and fun to build on. In addition, it offers many possibilities for your builds: not just the mesh coil option! We really liked all the extras included in the packaging and the build quality and compact size of this RDA. The Slatra Mesh RDA definitely is an option to consider if you are thinking of getting a new RDA any time soon. As usual, please let us know your thoughts in the comment below!
