Vaporesso PodStick Pod System Review

Here comes a new device from Vaporesso! This time we are putting our hands on the latest release from this popular vape brand, a pod system called the PodStick Kit. Vaporesso tried to put “the best of both worlds” in just one vape device. This is supposed to be a hybrid between a pod and a pen-style device! Did they succeed with this new vape invention? Let’s unbox the Vaporesso PodStick first and then we will go into more details!

Unboxing the Vaporesso PodStick

The Vaporesso PodStick comes in the typical black and white packaging from Vaporesso. The box cover states “The best of both worlds.” No need to explain this again, so let’s check what Vaporesso put inside the box.

• A spare DL meshed pod (0.6 ohms)
• A USB cable

The Vaporesso PodStick Mod

The PodStick mod is a very user friendly device made with aluminium and PCTG (type of plastic). Powered by an internal 900mAh battery, this mod has a sort of pen shape (I would not call it pen though). The device can be charged via USB cable and the USB port is located at the bottom.

The PodStick features a fire button and right under this button there are 5 LED lights in a column. These lights show the battery level (20%-40%-60%-80%-100%) so you know when it is time to charge it again. The LED lights go on when pressing the fire button. The device can be powered on and off by simply clicking 5 times the fire button.

In addition, the fire button can be clicked 3 times to switch between 3 different output modes: Green, Red and Blue. Each color matches a different wattage level depending on which pod (MTL and DTL) you are using. The minimum output is 9W and the maximum, 22W. All this is monitored by the Onmi Board Mini, a well-known chipset used in many Vaporesso devices. As you might expect, this chipset also has many safety features such as 10 sec puff protection, shortcut protection….

Last but not least, it is worth mentioning that the Vaporesso PodStick feels very comfortable in hand and it is light and portable (18mm by 22mm by 111mm). Vaporesso is offering 6 different colors at the moment: black, silver, gold, blue, splashed and phantom.

The Vaporesso PodStick Cartridges

Vaporesso offers 2 different kinds of pods for this new vape kit: a 1.3 ohm pod for MTL and a 0.76 ohm meshed pod for sub-ohm vaping. Both cartridges have a built-in coil that is not replaceable with 2 ml capacity. The pod features a push-and-slide top filling with an innovative filling slot called PTF. This system is not completely new though. If you own a Vaporesso Renova you are familiar with it. It allows the liquid in but never out which brings a big advantages for those having children around: it is not possible to swallow the e-liquid.

In addition, the pods are really well-thought and they are leaking free. Great job! But how is the flavor? The flavor is on the spot and both type of coils do exactly what they are supposed to do. Thanks to the automatic pod recognition, you don’t really have to bother about settings. But you can always adjust the power output with the 3 levels mentioned before.

Conclusion 

With so many pros and so little cons, we truly recommend getting the Vaporesso PodStick Pod System. This kit is more than just a backup device and it brings a satisfying vape for both MTL and DTL inhaling. The battery capacity is good enough to keep you vaping all day along with the MTL cartridge but it needs to be charged if you vape very often with the Meshed pod. The flavor coming out of this device is really good considering it is a pod mod.

All in all, I love the simplicity and convenience of this new device from Vaporesso. For less than $30, this is possibly one of the best vape starter kits you can get at the moment. Don’t let it go!
